This event is part of the foundation training for newer councillors (experienced councilors and clerks should attend the: ‘Planning for Parish and Town Councils’ event).
This event will look at the key areas councils should focus on in their role as a consultee in the planning process.
Planning is potentially the most contentious subject your town/parish council will become involved with, making this event is one of our most popular with new councillors.
Topics will include:
- A basic overview of the planning system
- The role of the parish/town council
- How councils should respond to applications
- Material planning considerations
- How councils can best get their voices heard
- Q&A at the end.
