The Clerk is responsible for organising meetings of the Council, including administration of Council’s paperwork and governance (including policies), advice on procedure and
implementing instructions of Council.
As RFO, the Clerk is responsible for financial management of Council using ensuring full
transparency and accountability.
Attendance would be required at the Council meetings, usually held on the second Thursday of the month, held at the Church House, Crowcombe at 6.30PM.
The clerk is responsible for sending Agendas, Minutes, and any other documents required for the meeting 3 clear days in advance. The agendas are to be posted on the noticeboard within the legal time frame. Distributing emails to Councillors.
The Clerk is responsible for the website, uploading documents required.
The Clerk works from home and office expenses are paid, with a laptop and printer supplied. The hours average 8 per week. There is an element of flexibility within the hours, depending on the working day, with the exception for attendance at meetings. A handover will be provided which will include minor tasks.
Salary will reflect qualifications and experience and be based on the NALC pay scale LC1 SCP13 – 17 £29064 to £31022 (if not CiLCA qualified) or LC2 range SCP18–23 £31537 to
£34434 pro rota (with the CiLCA qualification).
Candidates without the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification (CiLCA) will either hold or be willing to obtain the Introduction to in Local Council Administration, before undertaking CilCA.
