Parish Clerk

Due to the currents clerk’s wish to retire, the Parish Council is seeking highly organised and committed applicants to undertake this key role, which is the Clerk/ Proper Officer of the council. They are responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the Council’s services. You will need to be enthusiastic, flexible and community-focused with excellent administrative, inter-personal, accounting and IT skills to work with Councillors, the community, and eternal organisations.

You will ensure that all legal, statutory, financial and other governing provisions relating to the Council are observed, all Council meetings are properly administered, and decisions effectively implemented whilst developing healthy working partnerships with key local and regional bodies.

The ideal candidate would be suitably qualified holding the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA). However, the Council would consider appointing an applicant with the necessary skills who did not have the CiLCA qualification but was prepared to work towards it.
